The Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC) is a nonprofit community-based organization rooted in the ethnically diverse Newark neighborhood called Ironbound.

Founded in 1969 by community residents, ICC's major role has been to work with neighborhood people to develop and operate programs and services to meet the needs of the area and improve the quality of life for individuals, families, and the general community.

The Community Corporation's first program, the Ironbound Children's Center, was created in response to the growing child care needs of community parents. Today, ICC remains loyal to its original commitment to work with neighborhood residents to develop community-based solutions to community problems.

As the largest service provider in Ironbound, ICC has prided itself on the array and quality of its services and has demonstratively contributed to the well being of the community.

Its longevity has established it as an integral part of and a stabilizing agent in the Ironbound. The community continues to depend on ICC for services and care that are not provided by anyone else. ICC continues to meet the challenge.
